Dynasafe BACTEC’s research team continues to lead the way in the innovation and application of historical UXO desk top research to ensure that the site specific assessment of potential UXO (Unexploded Ordnance) contamination is accurate, reliable and effective.
Any risk posed by potential UXO / UXB (Unexploded Bombs) will be assessed in conjunction with the intended future use and development of the project site. If an elevated risk of encountering UXO is identified, risk mitigation measures will be recommended to reduce the threat of UXO to the ALARP, (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) principle. The understanding of the project works, proposed construction techniques, ground conditions and the UXO risk mitigation technologies available is vital to ensure that the correct level of UXO risk mitigation is recommended.
All detailed UXO risk assessments and risk mitigation strategies are developed by experienced, qualified researchers, senior EOD engineers, specialists and construction engineers. Detailed UXO risk assessments are no longer the preserve of office based experience and application only.
UXO Risk Mapping
Dynasafe BACTEC leads the way with 2D and 3D UXO risk mapping applications. With detailed in-depth research, endeavour and practical experience many project sites, (particularly in central London and ex-military sites) can be zoned into areas of differing risk, not only from the possible location of (Unexploded Ordnance) UXO but also in conjunction with the proposed construction / remediation activity and future use of the project site. This ensures that any follow on UXB / UXO risk mitigation work is proportional to the risk posed by UXO which is safe, reliable and professional.

I could not believe that parts of my project site in central London would be assessed as low risk from German WWII bombing. The detailed assessment has enabled the project to save costs and time by not conducting unnecessary UXO surveys on site whilst also staying safe.
Dynasafe BACTEC confirmed that just because my project site is on ex-military land it does not mean that there is an immediate risk from UXO.
